Course Description:

This course is an overview that looks at correctional ministries in general. Learner will be addressing the ministerial factors of leadership that ministers must address within a correctional facility. How to facilitate the different kinds of ministries even if they are not a part of their own religious belief system shall be discussed. Ways to invite, not force, Christian beliefs to those that are seeking a religious belief and how to maintain respect for other religious belief systems will also be discussed.

Here at Missional University, in the field of correctional chaplaincy, the course of leading a correctional ministry is offered in order to teach the way to facilitate correctional ministries. In correctional facilities there are numerous ministries and volunteers of those ministries. It is the chaplains responsibility to facilitate those different kinds of religious ministries. It is this courses objective is to teach the value of servitude and leadership. It has been said that everything inmates do but sleep is a part of what chaplains oversee. The leadership skills of a chaplain includes providing emotional and spiritual guidance to inmates and staff each day.
