CMT6210 Advanced Crisis and Disaster Management and Public Outreach

This course will explore various methods for conducting public outreach and education regarding general disaster and emergency preparedness at an advanced level. In addition, students will be equipped to apply principles of community relations for non-profits and how these can be applied in a crisis or disaster.
How This Course Benefits Students:
Communication during a disaster or crisis is critical to public safety, but effective communication can very difficult to the circumstances of the disaster or crisis. This course will help students understand and be equipped to apply the principles of effective comminicatuions in a crisis or disaster.
Why This Course Is Important:
Emergency response is a field in which specific techniques, procedures, and organizations are required to be effective. This course will help the student demonstrate an understanding of these factors.
