Course Description:

This is an introductory course to demographic data which will explore source of data, collection of data , and subsequent evaluation. It will utilize publically available data to examine population characteristics and common health status measures (crude birth rate, infant mortality rates, fertility rate, mortality rate etc.)

How This Course Benefits Students:

As missional leaders working in mission efforts, students need to know how to assess or collect demographic data and use this information to understand how static and dynamic population characteristics influence behaviors (health, and social) and outcomes.

Missional leaders need to have an understanding of their population that is being served in order to provide essential spiritual needs
