Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to introduce Christian missionaries to the field of epidemiology and its utilization in public health. The course will explore the role and principles of epidemiology and describe components of epidemiology such as frequency, distribution, and determinants of disease in human population. The course is designed to help students apply epidemiologic concepts and methods in identifying distribution and determinants of disease

Students need to understand frequency, distribution, and determinants of diseases in human population and use this knowledge to infer association between health exposure and outcomes

Why This Course Is Important:

An in-depth understanding of epidemiology and its application is essential to population health. Students need epidemiological skills to be able to identify health data, calculate and interpret measures of disease occurrence and write and publish epidemiologic studies.
