Course Description:

Analyzes and evaluates nursing practice models for use in faith community nurse practice. Examines the historical development as well as current research and perspectives regarding principles and theories related to knowledge development of this specialty practice. Application to practice is explored.

Faith community Nurse health ministry is a specialty practice recognized by the American Nurses Association. In order to develop a quality health ministry practice registered nurses and those serving on the health ministry team must have a working knowledge of the basics of practice including spirituality, professionalism, wholistic health, and community outreach.
