ORG4410 Human Resource Management

Human resources professionals are strategic partners in managing organizations and in complying with the law. Students will overview an HR professionals myriad responsibilities, including recruiting, appraising, retaining, and compensation of an organizations employees. Additional topics will include discipline and grievance procedures, as well as an overview of workplace compliance laws.
How This Course Benefits Students:
HR professionals are increasingly responsible for the management of the talent within an organization, both to make sure that they do not violate the law, but to recruit and pay those who represent an organization. They are usually part of creating the mission and ethical code within an organization and enforcing it.
Why This Course Is Important:
Organizations rely on HR departments to recruit and train their greatest asset: their employees. HR professionals have legal obligations to an organization and are called upon to address a myriad of ethical situations faced by employees within an organization. This course will provide students with the opportunity to evaluate the role of human resources within an organization.
