PSY3010 Psychology of Addiction

This course explores the development and etiology of addictions. Students will also learn about family dysfunction and how this influences the clients addiction and recovery. Students will also various treatment options to work with those who have an addiction.
How This Course Benefits Students:
This course will relate to students who want to identify and apply abnormal behavior to law enforcement professions as a means to assess, diagnosis, and treatment individuals with abnormalities.
Why This Course Is Important:
In todays world, we are seeing an increase in addictions among other stressors. This course is important to the University as it will assist students at an advanced level in learning practices and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations needed to provide proper care to clients in need of treatment.
